This sketch came about as a kind of meditation on stillness. The Alta Ski Area Lodge asked for something simple...a quick portrait of relaxation—and what came out was this: a figure caught in a quiet pause, where nothing is demanded and nothing is forced. I kept the lines loose, almost unfinished, because that’s what rest feels like at its best: unpolished, unhurried, and free of expectation. There’s beauty in letting a moment stay imperfect, in trusting that the simplicity of it is enough. That’s what I hoped to reflect here...the way a body softens into the chair, the weight of the day lifting, and the quiet satisfaction of just being for a little while.
